SKINCARE
Hey hey friends! Today I’m answering a question I receive all the time! What is my skincare routine?
I keep it pretty simple, mostly focusing on anti aging since I’m not generally acne prone. I occasionally get a pimple (I actually woke up this morning with one!) but for the most part I’m pretty lucky. I’ve found a handful of products I use consistently, and they have become my holy grails. So let’s get to it!
My Clarisonic is something I can’t live without! I’ve had mine for about ten years and it’s a staple in my routine now! When I purchased mine it came with a sample of their refreshing gel cleanser and I’ve been hooked ever since. I notice a HUGE difference in my skin after using my Clarisonic- it makes my skin so smooth. I generally don’t take it with me when I travel and I hate the way my skin feels after a few days of not using it! I keep it in my shower and use it a few times a week.
To remove my makeup I either use Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water or an alcohol free makeup wipe. I’m not loyal to any one brand (although I do love the Target brand) so I generally buy whatever is on sale.
I know Apricot Scrub is controversial but I’m a fan, and have been for years. I recently found out that Target makes this scrub without salicylic acid in it. I’m not acne prone so this is the one I’ll be buying from here on out. If I’m going away for more than a weekend I’ll pack this with me- it doesn’t exfoliate as well as my Clarisonic but it’s easier to bring along!
Neutrogena Hydroboost is my absolute favorite moisturizer. There are two different kinds, which took me way too long to figure out! I couldn’t figure out why every time I bought it it was a different color and smell! Well, let me tell ya! One is a gel cream for extra dry skin (white, no smell) and then there is the water gel (blueish tint with a fragrance) for normal skin. Don’t pay full price for them! CVS/Walgreens/etc. has buy one get one 50% off frequently!
My Curology prescription is the most recent product I’ve added to my routine…3 years ago! You can tell I don’t change things up too much. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it! My prescription has Tretinoin, Vitamin C & Niacinamide, as you can tell I’m all about fighting the signs of aging anyway I can.
Last and not least– botox! I had my first botox the week after my 30th birthday. I was unbelievably impressed with the results. My eyes are really sensitive to the sun so I’m always squinting which creates a lovely line in between my brows, and on my forehead. I got 20 units which was the perfect amount. I noticed the other day as I was doing my makeup that I’m due for some more. I’m such a wimp and hate needles, but its worth it in the end! I can’t believe I’m posting this, but here is a before and after!
So that’s about it! Like I said I’m a big fan of keeping it super simple. What is the one skincare product you can’t live without?
