Hey friends! Hope you all had a fabulous Christmas with your family! I spent the holiday in New York with friends and family who spoiled me rotten! As much as I love being with fam, I’m not a fan of the frigid temps and the wind. Trying to convince my parents to do Christmas in San Diego next year!
As I sit here snuggled up on my couch thinking back over the past 365 days, I can’t help but feel a little sad that 2017 is over! 2017 was a really special year for me, a year of immense growth, travel, happiness, celebrations, time with friends/family, + a lot of love. I spent more time traveling this year than being home, which was a first for me! Here goes a (LONG) look back at 2017 through pictures!
Rang in 2017 in Boulder, CO with my Maggie!
Amanda moved from San Diego to Ohio + I miss having her here SO much! This girl is such an amazing friend, I can’t imagine my life without her in it. Celebrated her birthday with her in Dayton!
Went to Vegas for Jamies Bachelorette Party in Feb!
Grand Canyon was on my list of places to travel in 2017! Checked that off the list in March, along with Antelope Canyon + Horseshoe Bend with my girls from NYC!
Traveled to Switzerland, Germany, Czech Republic, and Italy March/April. I fell hard and fast in love with Venice! Discovered Switzerland is a dream of a country! Went hang gliding over the Alps and loved every second of it!
I spent a couple weeks during April + May with my Maggie while she was in the hospital on bed rest + then in the NICU with Mateo. Of course we had to wear our matching shirts, not much has changed in 20 years of friendship!
Had such a blast at Jamies wedding in Orlando, FL in May
Amanda moved from Ohio to Austin, which means I made my first trip to Texas! Celebrated Liams 1st birthday + made a trip to Magnolia in Waco!
Went to my parents house in Naples, FL with my cousins, aunt, mom + Rosie for a girls trip in June
Flew from Naples to Tulum, Mexico for my cousins wedding over the July 4th weekend. I’ve never seen my cousin so happy. The love between these two is unreal. So happy she found Mike, he’s one heck of a guy. LOVE you two! #relationshipgoals
Checked off another bucket list item while in Tulum!
Palm Springs for Sarahs bachelorette party in July- such a fun weekend!
Cried like a baby when I saw The Eagles (my favorite band) at The Classic West in Anaheim in July. Also saw Fleetwood Mac, Earth, Wind & Fire, Doobie Brothers, Journey, + Steely Dan.
Auditioned for The Bachelor in Costa Mesa in July
Flew to Boulder in August so I could finally snuggle with my little man! I swear he loves me!
Temecula for my besties wedding in September. So fun to have everyone together again!
Celebrated my 30th! Dinner at my favorite restaurant, boating on Mission Bay, party at Negociant Winery with all my friends, + a tattoo to celebrate 30!
So thankful all my girls flew in to celebrate with me!
Flew out to St. Louis to meet Syd, my newest cousin- 30 years apart! My grandfather had both of his grand daughters in one place!
Surprised my Maggie in Boulder for her 30th + got a bunch of baby Mateo snugs in!
Thank my lucky stars for friends like this one!
October + November were the only months I didn’t travel this year! I started Italian lessons + learned there are SEVEN ways to say “the” in Italian! Will continue lessons in 2018!
Hosted my parents for their 1st (hopefully not their last!) Thanksgiving in San Diego + celebrated my Dads birthday!
Went to my first sponsored blogger event in Costa Mesa in December + met a great group of women!
Flew to NY for the holidays where I celebrated my cousins birthday + Christmas with the fam!
Me + my girls! My god daughter Jessie + my cousin Syd!
My favorite family tradition, home made pasta by Dad + Grandpa on Christmas Eve!
So there it is, the best of 2017! I’m sure going to miss you! Thank you for the love, support + encouragement during the 1st year of L+S by AP! I’m so incredibly thankful you are on this journey with me!
“May your coming year be filled with magic and dreams and good madness. I hope you read some fine books and kiss someone who thinks you’re wonderful, and don’t forget to make some art — write or draw or build or sing or live as only you can. And I hope, somewhere in the next year, you surprise yourself.”
Cheers to 2018!
